LACASIS&T, SLA-SCC AND CLBC Annual Holiday Party

Merry everything!  Come celebrate the holiday season with your friends and colleagues at LACASIS&T’s holiday party on December 11th, 2014, where we will cheers to the wonderful year we shared and all we have to look forward to in 2015.

We’re partnering with the Special Libraries Association’s Southern California Chapter (SLA-SCC), and new partners, California Librarians Black Caucus (CLBC) for this special event.  There will be mixing, mingling, delicious food, cocktails, and a DJ and dance floor!!

Your ticket includes a 3-course dinner at the beautiful Skirball Cultural Center, a dance floor upon which to tap your heels to your favorite tunes (email Grace Rosales to make request for the DJ in advance!), a photo booth and bar.

Special note to MLIS students: LACASIS&T is sponsoring 5 students to attend the event!  It’s on a first request, first receive basis — email Shelly Ray by December 1st to request sponsorship (please visit the ticket page to view entree options, and include your selection in your email).

We’re full of the holiday spirit so also partnered with a Los Angeles-based charity, PATH (People Assisting the Homeless).  Donations such as clothing (new/gently used), food (non-perishable) and other items (hygiene products, home items, pet supplies and gift cards), will be accepted at the event and delivered to PATH. Guess what else?  You get FREE entry to the Skirball on the day of the event.  Arrive any time before 4:30pm, and simply mention you’re there for the LACASIS&T/SLA event, and explore the museum gratis, including the current exhibit Light and Noir: Exiles and Émigrés in Hollywood, 1933–1950, which influenced such beloved movies as Sunset BoulevardDouble IndemnityCasablanca, and Ninotchka  ( You’ll entertain yourself from when the museum closes at 5pm til when the event starts at 6:30pm, but there’s free wifi, seating and lighting. (And plenty to do if you want to help set up!)
