This year we are pleased to announce that LACASIST is able to offer 2 scholarships to our McKinley winners.
- Sara Bond is working towards her MLIS in Library and Information Science at University of California, Los Angeles. Read Sara’s winning essay.
- Marisa C. Hernandez is working on her Master in Management in Library and Information Science at University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. Read Marisa’s winning essay.
Both winners will receive a $1000 US reimbursement funding to attend the 2017 ASIS&T Annual Meeting conference to be held in Washington, D.C, and a one-year membership to ASIS&T.
Marisa C. Hernandez is a graduate student working on her Master in Management in Library and Information Science, Marshall School of Business at the Univerity of Southern California.

The Los Angeles Chapter of the Association for Information Science and Technology (LACASIST) is sponsoring their Annual Margaret McKinley Student Scholarship Essay Competition. This competition, first established in 1992, and renamed in memory of the late Margaret McKinley in 1993, is intended to encourage students in Library and Information Science programs to consider the benefits of participation in the activities of professional societies.
